The AudioCodes M800B/SFP-GE-T is a 1000BASE-T copper Gigabit Ethernet SFP transceiver for the Mediant 800B SBC gateway. It installs in the Mediant 800B's SFP interface bay and provides a standard RJ45 copper Ethernet port — expanding the gateway's copper Gigabit connectivity options using the SFP slot. With a reach of up to 100m over Cat5e or better cabling, it connects the Mediant 800B to network equipment via standard copper Ethernet in environments where an additional RJ45 Gigabit port is needed from the SFP bay.

The GE-T copper SFP is useful when you need an additional Gigabit copper port from the Mediant 800B's SFP slot — for example, to connect to a copper-only switch port without running fiber, or to utilize the SFP bay for a short copper uplink in a patching scenario. It's plug-and-play with any standard Cat5e or Cat6 Ethernet cabling and works with any 1000BASE-T switch or router port at the far end. No fiber, no matched-pair requirements — just standard copper Gigabit. This is also useful as an emergency fallback if fiber optic connectivity goes down and you need to temporarily bridge to a nearby copper switch port.
