Description

The Fanvil i501 is the wired indoor station for a lobby door phone that needs a simple answer point inside the suite, office, or villa. It has no screen. Staff or residents answer on the handset or the built-in speaker, then unlock the door with one key.

Two SIP lines cover a door station and a second extension, such as the management desk. Power and data share one Ethernet cable through PoE, so a front-desk or unit install does not need a wall adapter.

The Telecom Spot Take

Our customers who run apartments, small hotels, and office lobbies pick the i501 when they want visitor calling without a video panel at every desk. Fanvil rates it for hotels, villas, and residential communities. The wired model is the one that takes PoE 802.3af. The i501W is the Wi-Fi version and does not use PoE. If the run is already Cat5e back to a PoE switch, the i501 keeps the station online without a local outlet. At 1.44–2.7 W on PoE, it is a light load on a typical access switch.

Key Features

  • Two SIP lines: SIP 2.0 over UDP, TCP, or TLS. One line can take the door phone. The second can reach management or another indoor station.
  • Handset or speaker: Screenless station with a handset and a 1 W speaker. Answer by lifting the handset or pressing the hands-free key. Full-duplex talk uses acoustic echo cancellation.
  • HD and narrowband audio: G.722 and Opus, plus G.711A/U, G.723.1, G.726 (16/24/32/40 kbps), G.729AB, and iLBC.
  • One-touch unlock: The unlock key defaults to door unlock and works in standby or during a call.
  • Desk speed dial and DND: The Management Office key defaults to speed dial. The DND key rejects incoming calls. DND also supports a user-defined schedule.
  • Short-circuit input: One input documented for door unlocking and related use.
  • PoE first: 802.3af on the network port, plus a 5 VDC / 1a optional adapter. The standard adapter ships with the i501W, not the i501.
  • Desk or wall: Wall holes are 100 mm apart. Leave about 5 mm under the screw head so the base can slide on.
  • Web setup: Hold the first button in standby and the station announces its IP address. Change the default admin login after the first sign-in.
