I was looking for a way to enjoy my old Western Electric phones with my kids, but wasn't sure which SLIC to use with my Asterisk PBX. My house was built with an RJ-11 port in every room with a termination block in my master bedroom closet. The sound quality of the dial tone, audio, and busy/fast busy, etc are spot-on and reminiscent of the 4ESS that served my area in the 70's and 80's. Very pleasantly surprised!
