The V-2904 is the four-door version of Valcom's door answering controller, handling the full visitor management workflow — a visitor presses the call button at the door, the call rings through to a telephone, the person inside answers and speaks with the visitor over the two-way connection, then dials a programmable code to release the door strike. Each of the four doors is individually configurable: unlock codes, number of ring cycles before the door request times out, and the duration the door remains unlocked are all set per door rather than globally, which matters in facilities where some entries have different security requirements from others. Three distinctive ring patterns differentiate which door is calling, so the person answering knows the location before picking up. Simultaneous calls from multiple doors queue rather than dropping, which prevents missed visitor calls during busy periods. Background music input with volume control allows the V-2904 to pass music through to the door areas during idle periods. Note: this unit ships without a power supply — order the appropriate Valcom power supply separately.
