The V-2901A is the single-door version of Valcom's door answering controller — it provides the complete visitor management workflow for one door: a visitor presses the call button, the controller rings the designated telephone extension with one of three programmable ring patterns, the staff member answers and speaks with the visitor, then dials a code to release the door strike. Three programmable ring patterns allow different tones for different entry types — a standard door, a priority entry, and an emergency access point can each use a distinct ring so the person answering knows the location before picking up. The door unlock timing (how long the strike remains released per activation) and the ring cycle count (how many rings before the request times out) are both programmable per installation rather than fixed. Background music input with volume control passes ambient audio to the door area when no call is active. Power supply not included — the V-2901A requires an external -24 Vdc supply and 10 Vac lamp power. The V-2904 is the four-door equivalent for installations managing multiple entry points.
