The Yealink WH63 E2 represents a significant upgrade over the original WH63 DECT wireless headset, offering enhanced performance for modern office and remote work environments. At The Telecom Spot, we're excited to highlight the key differences, especially in wireless range, compatibility, and accessories, to help you choose the right solution.
The standout improvement in the Yealink WH63 E2 is its extended DECT wireless range—up to 185m (606 ft) in optimal line-of-sight conditions—compared to the original WH63's 120m (394 ft). This makes the E2 ideal for larger offices, warehouses, or anyone who needs reliable mobility without dropouts.
Both models deliver excellent audio with dual-mic Acoustic Shield noise cancellation, up to 8 hours of talk time, lightweight convertible designs (headband, earhook, eartip), and seamless integration with Yealink IP phones via USB or direct connection. They also support major UC platforms like Microsoft Teams, Zoom, RingCentral, and more.
Where compatibility diverges is with third-party desk phones (Cisco, Poly, Avaya, Mitel, Grandstream, etc.) that require an EHS adapter for full remote call control (answer/end calls from the headset):
- The original WH63 pairs with the EHS60 (for Cisco, Avaya, Poly, etc.) or EHS61 (for Mitel, Unify, Snom, etc.).
- The newer Yealink WH63 E2 uses the updated EHS62 adapter.
Important note: These adapters are not cross-compatible. If you're upgrading from the original WH63, you'll need the EHS62 for the E2. The E2 base station also features modern dual USB Type-C ports for easier PC connectivity.
For Yealink IP phones or PC/softphone-only setups, compatibility remains identical—no adapter needed.
Whether you're outfitting a call center, hybrid team, or individual workstation, the WH63 E2 brings future-proof range and refinements while keeping the trusted Yealink quality. Check out the Yealink WH63 E2 today, or browse our full selection of Yealink headsets and adapters.
