The AudioCodes M800B/SFP-GE-SX is a Gigabit Ethernet short-range SFP transceiver for the Mediant 800B SBC gateway. Operating at 1000BASE-SX over multimode fiber at 850nm, it delivers 1Gbps connectivity with a reach of up to 550m on 50µm multimode fiber (or 275m on 62.5µm MMF). This is the standard short-range fiber SFP for in-building and campus horizontal runs where multimode fiber is already installed.

Multimode SX transceivers are the right choice when your fiber runs are within the same building or between nearby facilities — the 550m reach on 50µm OM2/OM3 MMF covers most horizontal and riser runs in enterprise buildings. If your building already has multimode fiber infrastructure (common in buildings cabled before 2010), the GE-SX is the compatible, cost-effective transceiver for Mediant 800B fiber connectivity. For runs exceeding 550m or buildings with single-mode fiber infrastructure, use the M800B/SFP-GE-LX instead. The SX SFP uses standard LC duplex connectors and pairs with any 1000BASE-SX SFP at the far end.
