Description
When an emergency strikes, every second of clear communication can make the difference — the Viking DNA-510 delivers pre-recorded voice instructions and professional alert tones instantly over your existing paging system, with no complicated rewiring required.
The DNA-510 connects to a standard phone line, analog station port, or an unused trunk/line input on your phone system, letting you trigger emergency announcements and program the unit remotely from any touch-tone phone. When activated, it immediately interrupts current paging or background music and injects your emergency voice message, alert tone, or live page across the entire facility. You can record up to five separate messages totaling two full minutes, configurable as one 2-minute message, two 1-minute messages, four 30-second messages, or five 24-second messages — giving you flexible coverage for different scenarios.
The DNA-510 is built for any area where people gather in large numbers: schools, churches, theaters, auditoriums, dormitories, office buildings, and factories. Its ten built-in emergency alert tones cover evacuation, lockdown, severe weather, fire, hazardous material release, tornado, flash flood, terrorist alert, and all-clear situations, making it a complete out-of-the-box mass notification solution.
Our Expert Take: What makes the DNA-510 particularly practical is its programmable trigger input — you can wire it to a fire alarm panel, panic button, or other contact closure so emergency messages fire automatically without anyone needing to pick up a phone. The N.O. and N.C. trigger output contacts also let you simultaneously activate a flashing beacon like the Viking BLK-3-EWP or an alarm dialer like the K-202-DVA, creating a layered alert system from a single device. If your facility needs to meet state or local assembly codes for mass notification, this unit is worth having evaluated against your specific requirements.
