Description
Already using Viking's AES-2000 apartment entry system but need to add door strike control at secondary entry points — side gates, parking garages, package rooms? The Viking ES-3 Wiegand Entry Point Expander lets you add up to 32 additional controlled access points to your existing AES-2000 system without replacing the controller.
Each ES-3 pairs with one Wiegand device and a door strike or magnetic lock to create a fully functional additional entry point. When the Wiegand device receives a valid card read, the ES-3 activates the door strike or lock automatically. This modular approach lets you start with the AES-2000's standard capacity and expand incrementally as the property grows — adding card readers to stairwells, garages, and amenity areas using the same credential database already programmed into the main system.
Our Expert Take: The ES-3 is the clean, cost-effective way to extend an AES-2000 or AES-2005 installation to multiple access points without deploying a second entry system or separate access control platform. Each expander requires one ES-3, one Wiegand reader of your choice, and a door strike or magnetic lock — plus the optional AES-NET board on the controller if you haven't already added it.
