Description

Need a tough, no-nonsense phone that connects instantly when someone picks it up? The Viking K-1900-712L is a heavy-duty hot-line panel phone designed for high-traffic and demanding environments.

Lift the handset and it automatically dials one programmable number (up to 32 digits) — no buttons to press. It works on standard analog phone lines, PABX extensions, or Centrex/CO lines and stays silent on incoming calls so it won’t interrupt your main line.

The phone features marine-grade 316 stainless steel construction, a short 12-inch armored handset cable with an internal stainless steel lanyard for extra vandal resistance, and an amplified hearing-aid-compatible handset that cuts through factory noise or busy outdoor areas. It’s simple to program with touch-tone from any phone and stores settings in non-volatile memory — no batteries needed.

Ideal for courtesy phones, security stations, gate entry, catalog sales desks, kiosks, and replacing expensive leased ringdown circuits. At The Telecom Spot, we stock it, support it, and help you get it installed right the first time.

Our Expert Take: If your location sees heavy public use or harsh conditions, this phone delivers industrial-grade durability without complicated electronics. It’s not a fancy SIP model (see Viking’s IP version for that), but for pure analog reliability, it’s one of the toughest hot-line phones available. We recommend pairing it with a double-gang box for flush mounting or the optional VE-5x10 surface box. Pro tip: Test the volume in the actual environment before final install — the default level works great, but you can lock it if needed.
