Description
Add proximity card access to a weather-protected analog entry phone — the Viking K-1770-3-EWP combines the vandal-resistant stainless steel K-1700-3 platform with a built-in Wiegand proximity card reader and Enhanced Weather Protection designed for demanding outdoor locations.
EWP construction adds sealed gaskets, gel-filled connectors, Mylar speaker, self-draining mic mount, and a push button switch internally sealed per IP67. The 14-gauge stainless steel faceplate, heavy-duty metal keypad, and T-10 Torx security screws handle vandalism. Telephone line powered with no separate supply. Relay contacts fire door strikes or gates on valid card reads or keypad codes.
Our Expert Take: The K-1770-3-EWP is the outdoor-rated analog version — right for sites that need proximity card access control at exposed entry points on POTS lines. For SIP VoIP systems, the K-1770-IP-EWP is the upgrade path.
